The attraction was first set to reopen on May 1, 2020, but Disney decided to reopen it earlier.
Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle announced on his Instagram that the PeopleMover would reopen this weekend at the Magic Kingdom. It would either reopen Saturday, April 24th, or Sunday, April 25th.
The reopening did not happen on Saturday, but guests were happy to finally be able to ride it again this Sunday.
The lines were long for most part of the day but moving fast.
What is the PeopleMover?
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is an elevated tram in the Disney's Magic Kingdom theme park. The ride is a narrated tour taking guests around the Tomorrowland area.
It also goes through attractions like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain and Star Traders retail shop
Why was the Disney PeopleMover closed?
Disney closed the attraction after a couple of incidents back in March 2020. The official website listed it as "Closed for refurbishment". The status was not updated yet.
UPDATE: The Disney website now shows the PeopleMover as available again, open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
