How much does a hotel near Disney World usually cost?
By the time I wrote this article, hotels near Disney World and Universal Studios ranged from $89 up to $4000 per night. Prices can vary a lot depending on quality and room size. A simple 3-star hotel near the parks can cost $200 per day. Hotels owned by the theme parks are the closest as they are located inside the property, but they are also among the most expensive.

One of my favorite resorts in Orlando is the Westgale Lakes Resort & Spa which is located in a privileged central area between the attractions. That means you can easily get to Disney, Universal or SeaWorld in about 10 minutes or less.
This is the first resort I ever visited, and at the time, my first impression arriving at the the gate was of a very luxurious and probably very expensive place that only very rich people go to. I was really surprised to find that not only it was very affordable, but could be even cheaper than the regular hotels we are used to, which many times have much lower standards.
It's not just beautiful and luxurious, it's practical too! Instead of a small hotel room, resorts offer large modern apartments with fully equipped kitchens and even a laundry area. Basically, a home away from home. Not only you have more space and comfort for your family, but in addition to the discounted resort rate, you can save even more money by preparing your own food and not spending money on expensive restaurants every day. If you're like me and lack talent in the kitchen, you can still save money and time with cheap frozen food which you can easily prepare yourself.
How much is a discounted resort rate?
Discounts can reach up to 70% off the regular resort rate. For example, a spacious studio for 4 people can start at $35 per night, a bigger apartment around $50, and a two-bedroom apartment for 8 people around $100 which is a good option if you have a big family. Compare that to the regular hotel rates starting at $89 and you have an idea of how much you can save. Prices can vary depending on the time of the year, but in general they are usually much cheaper than regular hotels with the benefit of the extra space, comfort and additional amenities.
